The questions it asks, in order
Built from how landscaping calls really go. Every question has a reason, and it skips anything the caller already said.
Quick mode (new quote):
- "Thanks for calling company_name. Are you looking for a quote?"
- "Is the property in service_area?" (if no: polite decline + referral if owner has one)
- "What's the address?"
- "Is this for regular mowing, or a one-time job?"
- "Would you like weekly or every other week?"
- "Is it a typical yard, or larger than about size_threshold?"
- "Lawn service starts at starting_price per visit for most yards. We'll confirm after we look. Can someone stop by slot, or would you rather send photos?"
- "Best name and number? Okay to text you?" Read back.
White Glove:
- "Tell me about the yard and what you'd like it to look like."
- "Any gates, dogs, or areas we should avoid?"
- "Are you interested in seasonal cleanups or treatments too? Many customers bundle them."
- Full read-back of address, services, frequency and visit time.
Calls it handles
- New quote. Wants a price for mowing, cleanup, mulch, design. Agent collects address, service, size estimate, photos; books an estimate or sends request. Gives "starting from" price only if owner allows.
- Start recurring service. Picks frequency and start date; creates request.
- Seasonal pause or restart. Pause for winter/vacation/drought; restart in spring. Agent logs and confirms.
- When is my next visit / did you skip me? Reads schedule; explains rain delay.
- Spring/fall cleanup booking.
- Treatment questions (fertilizer, weed, grubs, mosquitoes): what's included, when to water/mow. Pet re-entry: read owner's label-based guidance only.
- Irrigation: start-up, winterization/blowout, leak.
- Complaint: missed spot, damage (broken sprinkler head, window).
- Billing.
- Snow removal contract or "are you plowing today?"
- Commercial/HOA bid request.
Safety comes first
- Struck a gas line / smell gas: "Leave the area now and call 911 and your gas utility from a safe place." Alert owner.
- Downed power line or tree on a line: "Stay at least 30 feet away and call 911 or the power company." Alert owner.
- Someone hurt on a job or by equipment: "Call 911." Alert owner.
- Pesticide exposure (person or pet sick after treatment): "Call 911 if it's serious. For people, Poison Control is 1-800-222-1222. For pets, call your vet." Alert owner. Read product name from job record if available.
- Irrigation main leak flooding: advise shut-off valve location if known; urgent alert.
- Digging projects: crews must have utility lines marked through 811 before digging; 811 is free (Common Ground Alliance).
- Urgent text: "URGENT company_name: type. address. Caller number. time."
What it will never do
- Never give a firm price unless the owner set fixed prices; say "starting at" and "confirmed on site."
- Never give pesticide or chemical advice beyond the owner's label-based script; product labels and state applicator rules (FIFRA / state licensing) govern use.
- Never tell a caller it's safe to dig; 811 must mark lines first.
- Never promise exact arrival times; use windows and weather caveats.
- Never take card numbers by voice (PCI). Stripe link only.
- Never auto-renew or sign someone into a contract without clear read-back and text confirmation; follow state auto-renewal rules.
- TCPA: consent before texts; marketing needs opt-in; honor STOP. Quiet hours for promos.
- No discrimination by neighborhood or protected traits in service area decisions.
